Revlon Matte Lipstick in Smoked Peach, Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in Cappuccino, Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in 02 Apricot Shimmer
Being a working gaal I sometimes find that a lipstick on it's own just doesn't cut it, constant re-applying and the dreaded 'is it on my teeth?' whilst in a meeting, it can sometimes be more hassle than it's worth. So recently I've been sporting this simple look, not as simple as just a lip gloss or lip balm as it's 3 products sure, but I feel the effort it takes to apply every few hours really pays off.
I have fallen head over heels in love with my Rimmel Cappuccino lip liner. I use it with everything, from nudes to reds, it's just perfect. This is the first step to my everyday lip routine. And I know what you're thinking, lip liner for daywear? where do you work, Stringfellows? As much as that is my dream, I don't go full on with this and I think a subtle lip liner makes such a difference to your finished look, it really makes your lip shape pop as well as creating the illusion of perfect lip contours, even if you don't have them! I apply this first and then blend into my lips to create an 'ombre' effect of slightly darker on the outside graduating into your natural lip colour.
The next step is one of my favourite lipsticks, the Revlon Matte Lipstick in Smoked Peach. I'm not that much of a high street girl, especially when it comes to lipsticks, but I'd heard so much about these I just couldn't resist, and I do feel like Revlon is one of the more up-market high street brands. As the name suggests, this is a peach toned nude and I love it for the golden warmth it adds to my lip colour and overall complexion. As well as being sold as a matte finish it's actually really moisturising and doesn't dry my lips like I find MAC matte finishes tend to. I find I have to slightly blend this into my lips though as due to this matte finish it can look a little uneven and blotchy.
I then tie this all together with a little dab of cult beauty blogging product, the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector in 02. To be honest there's not a huge difference in shades as they all apply really sheer, I just always gravitate towards more peachy tones. This stuff tastes and smells amazing, not that I eat it but you know what I mean! It's not sticky and really finishes off my lips with a gorgeous creamy sheen.
What are your current lip loves?
Until the next post,
