Ode to...

How do I love La Roche Posay, let me count the ways...

It started with the Micellar Solution. I'd run out of Bioderma and thought I'd 'make do' with this. Why do I love it so much? Not only is it super gentle on my skin but I can also use it on my eyes! Unheard of for me, I can't even use Bioderma on my eyes but this stuff...perfect.

I then went for the Effacalr Mat Moisturiser. I typically don't tend to moisturise in the morning purely before I have oily skin and I just don't have the time to wait around for it to sink in before applying my foundation, as well as most moisturisers feeling pretty heavy on my oil slick face. This stuff is sooooo perfect if you have that problem too. It's hydrating but mattifies the skin ready for foundation and sinks in so quickly...10/10 from me.

I then ran out of my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish which I really like to use in the morning so I took this as the perfect opportunity to give the Effaclar Purifying gel cleanser a whirl. I also picked up the eye make up remover with it as I'd run out of my favourite Boots Botanics All Bright one. A risky move for a gaaaal with sensitive eyes but having got on so well with the Micellar solution, I thought I'd give it a go for research purposes. I'm not saying I don't like this product, it does the job and doesn't irritate my eyes so top marks, I just prefer an oil based eye makeup remover as I find it a lot more soothing on my delicate eye area, but if you're more into water-like removers, I would definitely recommend this one.

Lastly, my most recent purchase, the Hydraphase UV Intense Legere. The reason I wanted this was because, being January and pretty cold, despite being oily my skin can feel tight and dehydrated. Whilst I love the Effaclar Mat on days when I'm particularly dehydrated it can be a little too light. I wanted something more hydrating but still light, a tall order I find with skincare. From what I could make out this is a light hydrating lotion, good for day or night. The jury's not out on this one yet but I definitely have positive feelings towards it. It's light but feels quite rich in the sense of how hydrating and 'good' for the skin it feels. If you need an extra boost in the morning I'd for sure say give this a go.

Have you tried anything from La Roche Posay? What are you're favourites?

  2. If your looking for a more hydrating moisturiser that's still light enough for oily skin try the Le Roche Posay hyraphase light moisturiser. It's so light almost like foam but so rehydrating

  4. I've recently been using the Seaweed day cream from bodyshop which is also a mattifying moisturiser if you wanted to test it out, it's really good, you instantly see the oil soak up and it smells sooooo nice :) xx
