Spring Clean

Well Hello There!

Now there isn’t really any point to this post apart from introducing you to my brand new website design!

Redesigning my site had been something I’d wanted to do for a while as I’d had so many individual tweaks here and there to fix odd bits & bobs that my older layout was just becoming really clunky and not as ‘on brand’ I suppose as I would like it to be. I had also made the decision that I wanted to make the move over from blogger to wordpress so it seemed like the best time to actually take the reigns and finally sort this site out. This change is purely down to the individual and for me, I use wordpress in my day job and it just seemed like the best option when it came to thinking about the future of my site and where I want to take it, note I refer to this as my site not my blog coz, oh yeh babes, we mean business.

When it came to choosing a web designer there’s so many options now especially for bloggers and I’m with you, it can be so confusing knowing what to go for. Of course I looked at Pipdig, perhaps the most popular choice given their super convenient packages and good range of site designs, however for me, I had very specific ideas about how I wanted my site to look and it seemed like the custom option with Pipdig was going to be way out of my budget. I then saw my always inspiring friend Lindsey AKA Ropes of Holland had her site redesigned and as soon as I saw it, I knew this was the route to go down.

Gatto Web is run by the lovely Cat, she put together a custom package for me which included migration to wordpress and after a few back and forths with numerous design decks, font ideas and layout options we finally created this and I couldn’t be happier. Cat was an absolute dream to work with, has the patience of  saint and really took the headache out of migration. She made everything super easy and quick to sort and I can’t recommend her enough for anything from the odd tweak to her full on branding package. I’m so happy with how the site looks now and feel like it’s something that is current, easy to navigate and timeless in its design.

So with that said here’s to the first day of the rest of my blogging life I suppose *champagneglassemoji*. I’ve still got a lot of work to do behind the scenes and admin wise to get the site up to scratch but I’ve got so many ideas for what I want to do with this space and I can’t wait to get started.
