When it comes to summertime you wouldn’t exactly think ’tis the season for layering sure, but I bloody love a bit of light layering come summertime let me tell you! As summer in the UK isn’t exactly famed for its consistency, this is the perfect time of year to stock up on a few key pieces to keep those shoulders from going cold as well as adding some dimension to any outfit.

This shirt dress from River Island is currently my favourite thing in my wardrobe, it’s online only which can be tricky but it’s exactly how I imagined it would be and I could pretty much wear it all summer. Lightweight but not too sheer, loose fitting without hanging like a sack, it’s perfect. And I absolutely love the shape it creates when draped over my beloved Topshop trousers, I litch feel like I’m in pyjamas and I’m definitely OK with that. And this is the kind of thing I love to layer in summertime, longline shirts, cute kimonos or super light duster coats, I love the swishy, relaxed silhouette it creates, I call it my A level art teacher vibe.
Now let’s talk about these mules, I mean can you? Coz I actually can’t! I’d wanted a pair of orange mules since seeing these in & Other Stories but as they are much more of a trend piece to me than anything else I couldn’t quite justify the price, so when I managed to find these from Wallis can you believe? after searching on Zalando for a mere £33 I just COULD NOT resist.
